廣東外語外貿(mào)大學(xué)法學(xué)院的前身是1996年成立的國際法學(xué)系，2001年改為現(xiàn)名。歷經(jīng)20多年的發(fā)展，法學(xué)院目前已經(jīng)成為學(xué)科體系設(shè)置相對完整、專業(yè)特色鮮明、教學(xué)和科研水平在廣東省知名的法學(xué)院。
法學(xué)院設(shè)有完整的本科、碩士研究生、博士研究生人才培養(yǎng)體系。法學(xué)院現(xiàn)有法學(xué)四個本科專業(yè)方向，即國際經(jīng)濟(jì)法、民商法、知識產(chǎn)權(quán)法和法學(xué)方向。2004年，國際法學(xué)獲批教育部二級學(xué)科碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)。2006年，民商法學(xué)獲批教育部二級學(xué)科碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)。2009年，獲批教育部法律碩士(JM)專業(yè)學(xué)位點(diǎn)。2010年，獲得教育部法學(xué)一級學(xué)科碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)。2012年，獲學(xué)校歐洲學(xué)下歐洲法律博士培養(yǎng)方向。
學(xué)院設(shè)有國際法學(xué)系、法律系、民商法學(xué)系、知識產(chǎn)權(quán)法系和法律碩士教育中心。學(xué)校和學(xué)院共設(shè)有7個法學(xué)學(xué)科省級研究或培訓(xùn)基地：地方立法研究評估與咨詢服務(wù)基地、區(qū)域一體化法治研究中心、黨內(nèi)法規(guī)研究中心、“走出去”戰(zhàn)略下涉外法律研究服務(wù)中心、中國-非洲法律研究中心（廣州）、中國-非洲法律培訓(xùn)基地（廣州）、華南國際知識產(chǎn)權(quán)研究院。學(xué)校和學(xué)院共設(shè)有1個市級研究基地：廣州綠色發(fā)展法治研究中心。學(xué)校和學(xué)院共設(shè)有1個法學(xué)學(xué)科校級研究基地：廣東外語外貿(mào)大學(xué)土地法制研究院。學(xué)校和學(xué)院共設(shè)6個院級研究機(jī)構(gòu)：教育法制研究所、WTO法研究所、歐盟法律與外交研究室、法律與經(jīng)貿(mào)事務(wù)研究所、中國信訪法治與國家治理研究中心、智慧司法與司法改革研究中心。
法學(xué)院近年來在學(xué)科建設(shè)、人才培養(yǎng)、科學(xué)研究、社會服務(wù)、國際合作交流等方面取得了長足的發(fā)展。2010年，法學(xué)專業(yè)被廣東省教育廳批準(zhǔn)為廣東省特色專業(yè)。2012年，法學(xué)學(xué)科被廣東省教育廳批準(zhǔn)為廣東省優(yōu)勢重點(diǎn)學(xué)科。2012年法學(xué)院獲評為廣東省綜合改革試點(diǎn)單位和廣東省實(shí)踐教學(xué)示范中心。2014年，法學(xué)院獲評為廣東省“卓越涉外法律人才培養(yǎng)基地”。2016年，法學(xué)院獲評為廣東省人才培養(yǎng)模式創(chuàng)新試驗(yàn)區(qū)。2018年，學(xué)校入選廣東省高水平大學(xué)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科建設(shè)高校名單，其中法學(xué)學(xué)科被列為廣東省高水平大學(xué)重點(diǎn)建設(shè)學(xué)科。
法學(xué)院以培養(yǎng)具有國際視野的高層次法律人才為目標(biāo)，擁有一支高水平的師資隊(duì)伍，以“萬人計(jì)劃”哲學(xué)社會科學(xué)領(lǐng)軍人才、百千萬人才工程國家級人才、國務(wù)院政府特殊津貼專家、國家有突出貢獻(xiàn)的中青年專家、教育部新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才、云山領(lǐng)軍學(xué)者、云山杰出學(xué)者、“全國十大杰出中青年法學(xué)家”提名獎獲得者、廣東省和廣州市“十大優(yōu)秀中青年法學(xué)家”等為代表的高職稱、高學(xué)歷、高水平的師資隊(duì)伍，教師隊(duì)伍結(jié)構(gòu)合理，學(xué)緣結(jié)構(gòu)優(yōu)化?，F(xiàn)有專任教師（含科研人員）60人，其中教授24人、副教授12人，具有博士學(xué)位的教師有48人，60%以上教師具有海外學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷。法學(xué)教師大多數(shù)具有律師或仲裁員資格，他們有著豐富的法務(wù)實(shí)踐經(jīng)驗(yàn)。同時，法學(xué)院還聘有多位全國著名的法學(xué)專家擔(dān)任客座教授，以及聘請一大批精通實(shí)務(wù)與理論的實(shí)務(wù)部門專家作為校外兼職導(dǎo)師。還有廣東省法學(xué)會副會長、南粵優(yōu)秀教師等。近年來，法學(xué)院教師科研成果豐碩，成功獲得國家社科基金重大項(xiàng)目2項(xiàng)，教育部哲學(xué)社會科學(xué)研究重大課題攻關(guān)項(xiàng)目2項(xiàng)，國家社科基金重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目、一般項(xiàng)目10余項(xiàng)，省部級課題近百項(xiàng)；在《中國社會科學(xué)》《中國法學(xué)》《法學(xué)研究》《中外法學(xué)》《法學(xué)》《法商研究》《法學(xué)評論》《法律科學(xué)》《法學(xué)家》《政法論壇》等刊物上發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文60余篇。研究成果獲教育部第七屆高等學(xué)?？茖W(xué)研究優(yōu)秀成果獎（人文社會科學(xué)）二等獎、廣東省哲學(xué)社會科學(xué)優(yōu)秀成果一等獎等獎勵10余項(xiàng)。一批中青年學(xué)者嶄露頭角，在法學(xué)界發(fā)揮著的學(xué)術(shù)引領(lǐng)作用。
二十多年來，法學(xué)院為社會培養(yǎng)了大批高素質(zhì)的涉外法律人才。每年均有相當(dāng)比例的畢業(yè)生前往美國康奈爾大學(xué)、澳大利亞悉尼大學(xué)、香港大學(xué)、中國人民大學(xué)、清華大學(xué)、武漢大學(xué)、中國政法大學(xué)等境內(nèi)外知名院校繼續(xù)深造。就業(yè)主要分布在國內(nèi)外律師事務(wù)所、司法機(jī)關(guān)以及知名外企等行業(yè)或單位。學(xué)院現(xiàn)有在校本科生近1000人，法學(xué)雙學(xué)位學(xué)生200余人，碩士生320人，博士生10人。近年來，在國內(nèi)外繼續(xù)深造的學(xué)生占畢業(yè)總?cè)藬?shù)的27%以上；畢業(yè)生最終就業(yè)率高達(dá)99%以上,2014年、2016年、2018年榮獲“學(xué)校就業(yè)工作先進(jìn)集體”榮譽(yù)稱號。
法學(xué)院十分重視研究生教育，近年來研究生人才培養(yǎng)質(zhì)量穩(wěn)步提升。截至2018年12月止，教師中共有38人次榮獲“研究生教學(xué)優(yōu)秀獎”，7人次榮獲“優(yōu)秀研究生導(dǎo)師”稱號，2人獲“校級教學(xué)名師”稱號，獲得省級研究生教育創(chuàng)新計(jì)劃項(xiàng)目12項(xiàng)；研究生中有多人獲得優(yōu)秀畢業(yè)生等榮譽(yù)，在2009-2016屆研究生中，法學(xué)院研究生在各類刊物上發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文近360篇。法學(xué)專業(yè)研究生司法考試通過比例一直超過60%；各碩士點(diǎn)研究生就業(yè)率均高達(dá)100%。
學(xué)院踐行“明德尚行，學(xué)貫中西”的校訓(xùn)，培養(yǎng)“雙高”（思想素質(zhì)高、專業(yè)水平高）、“兩強(qiáng)”（跨文化交際能力強(qiáng)、實(shí)踐創(chuàng)新能力強(qiáng)），具有國際視野，通曉國際規(guī)則，能參與國際事務(wù)的國際化卓越法律人才?，F(xiàn)已與澳大利亞昆士蘭大學(xué)、美國佩珀代因大學(xué)、香港城市大學(xué)等境內(nèi)外高校建立并開展多種形式的國際交流合作。
法學(xué)院始終重視培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的創(chuàng)新能力、實(shí)踐能力和敬業(yè)精神，不斷拓展實(shí)習(xí)基地。許多單位通過與法學(xué)院的課題合作及設(shè)立獎學(xué)金等方式，給法學(xué)院的優(yōu)秀學(xué)生提供各種實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會。法學(xué)院與廣州市中級人民法院、深圳市中級人民法院、佛山市人民檢察院、廣州海事法院、南沙區(qū)人民法院、白云區(qū)人民檢察院、白云區(qū)人民法院、海珠區(qū)人民法院、廣東國鼎律師事務(wù)所等40多個單位合作建立了校外教學(xué)實(shí)習(xí)基地等。
作為廣東省“涉外卓越法律人才教育培養(yǎng)基地”，法學(xué)院在長期的教學(xué)實(shí)踐中，經(jīng)過多年的探索和發(fā)展，將外國語言文化、國內(nèi)外法律制度和國際交往規(guī)則三大專業(yè)板塊有機(jī)結(jié)合，形成了“專業(yè)與外語”深度融合的國際化人才培養(yǎng)模式，強(qiáng)調(diào)中西法學(xué)知識的融合、跨文化專業(yè)交流能力的培養(yǎng)，注重國際化視野和法律職業(yè)實(shí)踐，培養(yǎng)成效非常顯著。
法學(xué)院重視培養(yǎng)并資助學(xué)生參加各類國際性模擬比賽，而且頻獲國內(nèi)大獎。例如，2002年法學(xué)院學(xué)生代表隊(duì)參加“貿(mào)仲杯”（英語）國際商事模擬仲裁庭辯論賽，繼榮獲中國第三屆”貿(mào)仲杯”辯論賽亞軍后，又在2003年第四屆“貿(mào)仲杯”國際商事模擬仲裁辯論賽中摘取了桂冠。學(xué)生參賽隊(duì)伍在杰賽普(Jessup)國際法模擬法庭中國第五屆、第八屆至第十三屆、第十七屆全國選拔賽中多次取得了二等獎的佳績。2019年，學(xué)生代表隊(duì)獲得首屆“貿(mào)仲杯國際投資仲裁賽”團(tuán)隊(duì)一等獎。2019年，學(xué)生代表隊(duì)獲得國際刑事法院中文模擬法庭比賽中國區(qū)選拔賽第一名。
About Us

Founded in 1996 as the Department of International Legal Studies, GDUFS School of Law is a well-recognized institution of its kind in both teaching and research across the province through its systemic development of the discipline and its distinctive programs.
The School offers four concentrations (international economic law, civil and commercial law, intellectual property law, and legal studies) towards its Bachelor of Laws, international legal studies and civil/commercial law concentrations towards its Master of Laws, Juris Master (JM) professional degree, and the concentration of European laws toward the University’s Ph.D. program in European Studies.In 2010, itslegalstudiesprogram wasprovinciallyrecognized asone with distinctive features and its legal studies discipline wasprovinciallyratedakey discipline in 2012. Thelaw school wasrecognized asaTrainingBase forOutstandingInternational LegalProfessionals in Guangdong Provincein2014. In 2016, it was listed as anExperimental Zone forInnovation in Student Training in Guangdong. In 2018, its legal studies was listed by the province among thekey enhancement disciplines for top-tier universities in Guangdong.
With its four Departments (International Legal Studies, Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law) and the Juris Master Education Center, the School is home to seven research/training centers accredited by the Province, one accredited by the City of Guangzhou, one accredited by the University, and six other research organs, covering a wide range of subjects relating to laws, legal studies and interdisciplinary topics.
The School of Lawhasa strong and dedicated faculty of 60 full-time teachers and/or researchers, among whom 24 areprofessors, 12 associate professors,and over 60% have had overseas educational background. Besides provincial, municipal and University-wide academic/professional recognition, its scholars are proud to be on six national academic recognition programs. As most of them have legal qualifications as lawyer or arbitrator, they boast a wealth of hands-on experience in the field. It also invites nationallyleading scholars of law on boardas visiting professorsand a number of experts in legal practice and theory as external supervisors for graduate students.
Years of dedication have seen impressive achievements in the School’s nationally recognized research. Scholars herehave been granted two MajorProjects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, twoMajor Projects funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE), another ten projects funded by NSSF, and about 100 provincial- or ministry-funded research projects. The faculty has recentlypublishedmore than sixty heavy-impactpapers innationaltop peer-reviewed journals including Social Sciences in China,China Legal Science,Chinese Journal of Law,Peking University Law Journal,Law Science,Studies in Law and Business,Law Review,Science of Law,The Jurist, andTribune of Political Science and Law. The School is proud to have gained highest recognition on more than ten occasions such as the Second Prize in the latest prestigious triennialMOE National Excellence Award for University Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) and the First Prize in theSocial Science Research Excellence Award in Guangdong Province.
In the pasttwenty years, GDUFS School of Law has produced a great number of globally competitive professionals of high caliber. It currently serves nearly 1,000 undergraduates, 200 dual degree students, and 330 graduate students (10 for Ph.D. degrees). With the 99%-strong job placement rate, its graduates mainly work at domestic or international law firms, government judicial service, and other major foreign companies. Besides, more than 27% of its graduates also pursue advanced degrees at institutions including Cornell University,University of Sydney, University of Hong Kong, Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, and China University of Political Science and Law.
Graduate education at the law school has been going from strength to strength in recent years.It has been granted 12 provincial innovation projects for graduate education and 38 of the faculty have wonGraduate Teaching Excellence Award and seven have been awarded the title ofExcellent Graduate Supervisors. The bar passage rate among its graduate students always stays above 60% and their employment rate reaches 100%.
Upholding theuniversitymotto ofPursuit of Integrity, Practice and Cross-cultural Learning, the School of Law aims to train internationally competitive legal professionals who areexcellent inmoral cultivation and in the chosen field of study, adept in cross-cultural communication and practicalinnovation, well-versed in international practices with global vision, and ready toengaging in international affairs. It has ties with the University of Queensland,Pepperdine University, and City University of Hong Kong.
Alwaysattaching great importance topromoting innovation,hands-on expertise and professionalism,the School keeps developing practice bases to create various internshipopportunities for students. To date, it has such bases with more than 40 institutions includingGuangzhou Intermediate People's Court, Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court, Foshan Municipal People's Procuratorate, Guangzhou Maritime Court, People's CourtofNansha District, People's ProcuratorateofBaiyun District, People's CourtofBaiyun District, People's CourtofHaizhu District,andGuangdongGuardian Law Firm.
With years of continuous improvement, GDUFS law school, aTrainingBase forOutstandingInternational LegalProfessionals in Guangdong Province, hasdeveloped an integrated model of educating internationally competitive legal professionals through incorporating foreign languages and culture, Chinese and other legal systems, and international social etiquette, which has in turn greatly benefited the students.
The Schoolhighly supports student participation ininternational and national simulation competitions, winning numerous awards.In 2002,its student teamwon second place in the CIETAC Cup International CommercialArbitration Moot, first place in 2003 and second place for eight times inPhilip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (China). In particular, the School won first prize for the team in the first CIETAC International Investment Moot in March 2019 and first prize in the International Criminal Court Chinese Moot in April 2019.
Looking ahead,GDUFS School of Law will keep moving with the times while striving for sustained excellence so as to train high-caliber graduates to serve thelegalprofession and the broader community.
